Job Title: Full-Time Driver

We are seeking a reliable and skilled driver to join our team at Saint Francis Community Services. As a Full-Time Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting children and families for placement and appropriate services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain open communication with transportation and office staff, including social workers and family support workers.
  • Verify necessary transportation and move forms are complete.
  • Assure that children have all necessary belongings and medications at the time of transport.
  • Follow and adhere to state driving laws and regulations.
  • Transport children/families safely from one destination to another location.
  • Able to work varied days and hours.
  • Report critical incidents to DFPS verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours.
  • Implement Saint Francis policies and follow directives as required.
  • Follow and adhere to all pertinent Saint Francis Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms.
Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a drug screen, MVR, Criminal History and DFPS History Check, Centralized Background Check Unit Texas Health and Human Services Eligibility and any background checks deemed to be necessary.
  • FBI Fingerprint Check.
  • Lifting requirements of 30-50 lbs.
  • Must have valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mandated reporter.
  • Receives training in trauma-informed practice and incorporates knowledge in day-to-day practice.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Familiar with atlas and map usage.
  • Ability to travel throughout the State.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule.
  • Independent discretion/decision making within the scope and responsibility of the position.
  • Able to make decisions under pressure.
  • Manages stress appropriately.
  • Works alone effectively.
  • Understand and practices Universal Precautions.
