We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Carillon Senior Living. As a RN Full-Time Position, you will provide direct nursing care to residents and delegate and supervise the care provided by our Quality of Life Specialists/Resident Assistants.
Essential Job Functions:- Recognize, report, and chart potentially serious clinical manifestations and administer and document treatment within the scope of authority and practice.
- Accurately and precisely administer medications/treatment and document all medications in accordance with department procedures and expected practices.
- Inform physician, nurse manager, or responsible party/family of changes in resident's condition or incidents when appropriate.
- Ensure each resident's Care Plan is followed to meet the residents' needs and state requirements.
- Direct adequate qualified staff members to facilitate the medical plan of care, which meets the standards for nursing practice.
- Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure all transfer, discharge, and admission information is complete according to policy and practice.
- Complete all duties on shift task sheet, monthly summaries, and quarterly assessments.
- Take On-Call as scheduled.
- Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver nursing care to an individual or group of residents and accept assigned responsibilities as an accountable member of the Carillon team.
- Work as a team and assist all other department members when needed.
- Be able to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals and other departments within the system.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must communicate with internal and external contacts in a professional manner.
- Show the ability to demonstrate initiative by actively seeking additional duties, as well as accepting and performing all other duties as assigned.
- Have the ability to perform and document therapeutic measures prescribed and delegated by medical authority.
- Have the ability to maintain a professional relationship with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff by demonstrating appropriate interpersonal skills and demeanor.
- Possesses knowledge of and implements infection control and universal precaution practices.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Maintains a current license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Have a current card for the successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR - Healthcare Provider).
- Have a minimum of one-year Medical-Surgical, Long-term care, or Home Care nursing experience preferred.
