Job Summary

The Ambulatory Clinical Services Director is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of clinical and business processes of Keck Medicine of USC Ambulatory Services, ensuring optimal patient care and organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance patient care and operational efficiency, aligning with Keck Medicine of USC's mission and values.
  • Clinical Operations Management: Coordinate patient care services, manage financial and resource allocation, and implement healthcare policies to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and operational excellence.
  • Clinical Integration: Oversee the integration of clinical services across the ambulatory enterprise, including the onboarding of new practices and providers.
  • Leadership and Oversight: Provide leadership and oversight to clinical integration team members, ensuring the development and implementation of patient care standards and professional practice standards.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and implement a unit-based performance improvement program, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies such as JCAHO and Title 22.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, and Executive Management to develop and implement policies, programs, and processes that meet organizational objectives and laws and regulations.
  • Staff Management: Select and retain qualified nursing staff, ensuring they are competent to provide services and practice has been reviewed by internal and external regulatory groups.
  • Operational Budgeting: Contribute to developing and monitoring the operational budget, analyzing variances, and using the budget as a tool to find more effective methods of care delivery.
  • Space and Resource Management: Monitor space and resource requirements, ensuring optimal utilization of outside resources.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing (strongly preferred)
  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with 5 years of progressive leadership experience in an ambulatory healthcare services setting
  • Skills: Excellent people management skills, strong organizational skills, experience in creating business process improvement, standardization across multiple specialties, ability to measure and improve outcomes, familiarity with information systems, regulatory compliance issues, and business operations for physician groups
