Job Summary

This role oversees the efficient operation of clinical and business processes of the Keck Medicine of USC Ambulatory Services, ensuring optimal patient care and organizational performance. The Associate Administrator is responsible for coordinating patient care services, managing financial and resource allocation, and implementing healthcare policies to enhance both patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a unit-based performance improvement program that complies with JCAHO, Title 22, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Align business processes and education training with regulatory compliance requirements such as JACHO, CMS, and ACR.
  • Work closely with Quality, Compliance, and Executive Management to ensure policies, programs, and processes are developed, implemented, communicated, and consistently administered in compliance with organizational objectives and laws and regulations.
  • Manage and collaborate in business development activities in the Ambulatory Clinic Services, including hospital collaborations, physician outreach, continuing medical education programs, and community outreach.
  • Support and facilitate Value-Based Care and population Health Care Programs, promoting integration with USC CARE & Ambulatory Services.
  • Collaborate with Information Systems, HR, and other operating teams to ensure optimum workflow standardization and cohesiveness in all processes.
  • Identify and implement cross-training ideas and changes in staff design and task distribution to promote a more effective method of service delivery.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to clinical integration team members for ambulatory care practices, including new build, merger, acquisition, and renovation.
  • Develop and maintain a Nursing Professional Governance structure inclusive of all ambulatory care areas.
  • Set the direction for the service line with defined measurements and provide frameworks for staff to meet goals.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to assure engagement of key services/initiatives into the ambulatory clinic service programs and ensure outstanding patient care and service.
Requirements
  • Req Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Req 8-10 years Experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Req 5 years Progressive leadership experience in an ambulatory healthcare services setting
  • Req Clinical operations or healthcare management experience
  • Req Excellent people management skills; strong organizational skills
  • Req Experience in creating business process improvement, standardization across multiple specialties
  • Req Ability to measure and improve outcomes
  • Req Familiarity with information systems, regulatory compliance issues, particularly for academic practices, and business operations for physician groups
  • Req Good decision-making skills; ability to bridge the gap between administrative demands, clinical needs, and budgetary constraints
  • Req Strong analytical skills
  • Req Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Req Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
  • Req Expert analytical, organizational, and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills
  • Req Familiar with Hospital facilities and systems, healthcare strategic issues
  • Req Knowledge of relevant state and federal healthcare regulations
