Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and self-starting Project Engineer to support our Land Development group in our Houston office. The successful candidate will use their strong technical expertise for site planning, utility design, grading design, drainage analysis, and various design calculations for Master Planned Communities and Single Family Residential Subdivisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently complete engineering tasks within federal, state, and local established criteria.
  • Assign and manage tasks and schedules to EITs and non-exempt project team members under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure the accuracy of completed tasks through the use of established HR Green QA/QC processes.
  • Complete major design tasks that meet the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Monitor and proactively identify or correct technical, schedule, or financial issues through effective communication with the Project Manager or other management staff.
  • Assist the Client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Project Manager.
  • Monitor construction and supervise field personnel assigned to a task, data collection, or a specific project.
  • Respond to contractor questions and issues and prepare and issue project addenda as needed.
  • Recommend and prepare change orders, if authorized by the Project Manager.
  • Participate in the preparation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work.
  • Sign and seal engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company.
  • Independently communicate on technical matters with the client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited four-year or graduate engineering university in a relevant discipline.
  • Two to four years of relevant engineering experience is required.
  • The ability to plan and lead the preparation of contract documents for Land Development projects is required.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
