About the Position:

Wells Fargo is looking for a Lead Risk Assessment Specialist to enhance the IT&V Consumer, Small & Business Banking (CSBB) testing and validation efforts within the Small & Business Banking (SBB) testing team. This role is a vital part of Wells Fargo's second line of defense and Independent Risk Management team, focusing on the creation and implementation of methodologies and standards for review activities. The objective is to ensure thorough and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risks and controls in accordance with established standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee or engage in moderate to high-risk or intricate review activities within a matrixed environment, effectively communicating emerging risks to management in Independent Testing.
  • Contribute to extensive planning related to Independent Testing deliverables.
  • Analyze and investigate moderately complex potential corrective actions, ensuring proper reporting, escalation, and resolution.
  • Guarantee effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs and controls as per standards and applicable policies.
  • Address moderately complex issues and guide the team to achieve Independent Testing deliverables while utilizing a solid understanding of the risk management framework and the risk and control environment.
  • Collaborate and consult with colleagues, internal partners, management, and business lines regarding risk management.
Essential Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in Independent Testing or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Testing, Audit, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Ability to identify issues and risks, escalating them to the appropriate parties.
  • Comprehensive testing lifecycle experience, including scope determination, test script design, test execution, issue identification, escalation, and results documentation.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in issues management, validation, and tracking.
  • Experience leading testing engagements, particularly of significant scope, while guiding other testers and resources.
  • Capability to provide constructive challenges to business partners when necessary, with the ability to lead through influence.
  • Experience in drafting reports for senior leadership audiences.
  • Background in Audit, Compliance, Risk, and Testing.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
