An employer is seeking a Cost Assessment Specialist to join the Centralized Maintenance team.
This role involves being an integral part of the Centralized Maintenance Team, responsible for overseeing and managing repair events for tractors, trailers, and hostlers.
Key Responsibilities:You will be tasked with reviewing over 30 estimates daily from external maintenance vendors.
Your responsibilities include validating that the identified defects align with the client's wear and tear guidelines, ensuring that the proposed solutions from maintenance vendors adequately address the defects, and confirming that the pricing is justifiable.
In instances where you find repairs or charges that appear unreasonable, you will engage with the vendor for clarification and flag them for further evaluation before proceeding to the next estimate.
This position does not involve direct interaction with end-customers; it is strictly focused on reviewing estimates and images provided by vendors concerning significant repairs necessitated by wear and tear or damage.
Candidate Profile:We are looking for driven individuals with exceptional communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Flexibility with work schedules is essential, as the role requires comfort in working during holidays, including Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve.
Note that the company is closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Working Hours:Monday - Friday, 3 PM - 11 PM, with onsite presence required on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Qualifications:- Experience as a pricing analyst or in reviewing quotes for a fleet management organization.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Maintenance experience with trailers and power units.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of transportation operations, including DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Capacity to thrive in ambiguous situations and self-motivate to meet deadlines.
- Experience in analytical tasks and utilizing data to develop insightful and practical solutions.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
