Senior Water Resources Engineer

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in our water resources division, focusing on the design of sophisticated drainage systems for intricate transportation initiatives. Collaborating closely with state and local agencies, you will engage in high-profile projects utilizing innovative delivery methods such as Design-Build. Your technical acumen will be vital in:

  • Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Developing effective roadway drainage and stormwater management systems
  • Implementing erosion control and sediment management strategies
  • Coordinating and securing necessary agency permits
  • Performing hydraulic analyses for bridges and culverts

As part of our dynamic Transportation Design team, you will have opportunities for professional growth and networking, alongside engaging in team-building activities that extend beyond the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Biosystems Engineering with a focus on hydrology or water resources
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six months
  • A minimum of four years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
  • Strong skills in Microstation, GEOPAK Drainage, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience collaborating with roadway design teams to ensure drainage systems are effectively integrated
  • Ability to visualize spatially and understand the relationship between design and real-world implementation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
