About the Role

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer to join our Sediment and Waterfront Remediation practice. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for applying engineering skills to projects involving investigations, design, and construction support for the remediation of sediment sites throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with large, multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies to address complex problems.
  • Lead field programs and design tasks.
  • Plan and implement fieldwork, including various types of sampling and contractor oversight.
  • Evaluate chemical data and contaminant fate & transport.
  • Evaluate chemical source forensics.
  • Evaluate technologies and remedies, perform cost estimations, draft design calculations, and plan for remedy implementation.
  • Analyze data, including reviewing historical documents and preparing maps, tables, and figures.
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Commit to Geosyntec's culture of health & safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, water resources, coastal or environmental engineering, or a related field of study.
  • At least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to digest and summarize technical language from white papers, reports or regulatory documents.
  • Technical experience in engineering, geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines.
  • Previous field experience, for example coastal vulnerability assessments, sediment sampling, and groundwater sampling.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and related software; GIS.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
