Position Overview

The Retail Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing sales performance with a strong emphasis on growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role includes ensuring high standards in merchandising, store operations, and the comprehensive training and development of all team members.

People Development
  • Recruit, hire, and cultivate a talented team of managers and associates to align with store objectives and succession planning.
  • Establish annual performance goals, conduct evaluations, and foster the development of all direct reports.
  • Provide ongoing training and constructive feedback on product knowledge, sales techniques, visual merchandising, and enhancing the customer experience.

Customer Experience
  • Prioritize exceptional customer service by consistently executing and achieving the Customer Experience standards through regular assessments and coaching.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor to assist customers and support all sales activities.
  • Implement visual merchandising guidelines, promotional directives, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of both the sales floor and stockroom.

Sales and Profitability Management
  • Achieve or surpass profitability targets for the store in areas such as sales, payroll, shrinkage, and conversion rates.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize store sales while managing expenses effectively.

Operational Excellence
  • Adhere to payroll expectations and manage company assets by following all loss prevention protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Exercise sound judgment in decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Act with integrity and respect towards all team members.
  • Adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a managerial role within a retail environment, showcasing a proven ability to drive sales and profit while developing a team.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and conducting detailed report analysis.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy items exceeding 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods, typically eight hours or more.
