Position Title: Assistant Store Leader (Manager)

Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will utilize their retail expertise to drive business success and enhance customer experiences.

Client & Service Expert:
• Develop initiatives that foster repeat business and attract new clientele.
• Communicate and meet store productivity objectives, including sales metrics.
• Ensure all team members complete the sales training program and possess comprehensive product knowledge.
• Model and oversee the sales environment, providing consistent coaching to uphold superior customer service and sales standards.

Leadership & Talent Development:
• Support the Store Manager in achieving financial goals through measurable performance improvements.
• Assume Store Manager responsibilities in their absence.
• Lead by example in achieving personal sales targets.
• Educate the team on sales strategies and performance metrics to maximize business outcomes.
• Network within the community to efficiently fill open positions.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members.

Brand Equity Building:
• Communicate the Kate Spade New York brand aesthetic and philosophy to both the sales team and customers.
• Ensure adherence to brand and operational standards to maintain consistency.
• Implement visual merchandising directives and uphold store presentation standards.
• Relay merchandise performance, stock levels, and customer feedback to the Store Manager to enhance service and sales.

Operational Excellence:
• Oversee store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and securing the facility.
• Assist the Store Manager in managing payroll budgets and scheduling.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, focusing on loss prevention to safeguard inventory.
• Accurately manage all POS transactions to maintain inventory integrity.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Strong sales development and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership qualities with effective communication abilities across all organizational levels.
• Analytical skills to interpret sales reports and respond to business needs.
• Decision-making capabilities and conflict resolution skills in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Windows-based software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years in a management role within a similar retail environment.
• College degree is preferred.
• Experience in luxury goods is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Comfort with climbing ladders.
