Compensation Range: $70,897 - $74,836 annually
Reports to: Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer
Supervises: Branch Staff and Volunteers including Program Directors

The YMCA of the Suncoast has been a vital part of the community for over 25 years, offering a variety of facilities including an outdoor pool, wellness center, sports courts, and classrooms for diverse programs. The branch collaborates with numerous community organizations to deliver swim lessons, summer camps, group exercises, and wellness programs. An advisory council supports our philanthropic and community development initiatives, focusing on Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility.

Role Overview
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall administration of the branch, including staff supervision, budgeting, program development, and community relations. This role ensures the achievement of the Association's goals in alignment with the policies and standards set by the Board, advancing the mission of the YMCA.

Key Responsibilities
Program and Facility Management
  • Oversee the complete operation of the branch, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Design and implement a variety of programs that utilize available facilities and enhance membership engagement.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring high-quality facilities and equipment.
  • Drive membership growth through proactive engagement and outreach.
Staff and Volunteer Leadership
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop staff and volunteers, utilizing leadership resources effectively.
  • Facilitate the development of the branch board and committees, directing volunteer initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Advisory Board to enhance branch operations.
Financial Oversight
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with operational goals.
  • Monitor budgetary adjustments and implement necessary controls for balanced operations.
Community Engagement
  • Represent the YMCA within the community, fostering relationships with organizations and government entities.
  • Communicate the YMCA's objectives and programs through various public channels.
Fundraising Initiatives
  • Utilize storytelling to support mission advancement and fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinate community support campaigns in collaboration with staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of six years of management experience, ideally within a YMCA or similar nonprofit organization, is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and the ability to engage with diverse community groups. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification is preferred.
