Key Responsibilities:
The Chief Executive Officer is accountable for enhancing mission capacity in the region, informing leadership of community needs and perceptions, and strengthening relationships within the community by effectively communicating the American Red Cross's programs and opportunities for involvement.

  • Act as the primary representative of the Red Cross to enhance its visibility and connectivity within the community.
  • Foster enduring community relationships to achieve regional mission objectives.
  • Lead and manage the chapter board to mobilize support and resources effectively.
  • Guide community volunteer leaders to serve as representatives of the Red Cross in their areas, develop key partnerships, and recruit volunteers.
  • Encourage teamwork and inclusion to effectively fulfill the Red Cross mission.

Qualifications:
A four-year college degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Finance, or non-profit administration, or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is essential.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong judgment in complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including public speaking and writing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain community partnerships.
  • Management and supervisory experience of at least 5 years.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Travel Requirements:
This role will involve regular travel across multiple counties. A valid driver's license is necessary.
