Community Engagement Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Organizing Director to join our team at Make The Road Connecticut. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a statewide team of community organizers and senior level organizers, leading statewide campaigns, and supporting national campaigns and program expansion efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Team Management: Supervise and support a team of community organizers and senior level organizers, providing coaching, training, and supervision to ensure the successful execution of statewide campaigns.
- Campaign Development: Develop and execute organizing strategies, working closely with the Co-Deputy Director to ensure campaign goals, strategies, messaging, and funding opportunities are met.
- Base Building and Leadership Development: Oversee base building, leadership development, and member engagement, seeking to build long-term power for our communities.
- Civic Engagement: Support the development of civic engagement work, including voter registration, get-out-the-vote efforts, and other community-based initiatives.
- Coalition Building: Maintain, manage, and develop strategic partners and allies to support broad organizational campaigns and goals.
- Representation: Represent the organization in external and internal meetings, coalitions tables, state tables, conferences, and other events.
- Eligible to work in the US
- Required to be fully vaccinated with a FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine prior to the first day of employment
- Have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, community organizing, leadership development, and the elevation of directly impacted and marginalized people to create change
- At least 5-7 years of proven experience supervising, campaign development, and/or similar
- Able to meet deadlines with simultaneous projects
- Be open and flexible to work evenings and weekends
- Speaking and writing in English is required
- Speaking and writing in Spanish is required
- A car and driver's license is required
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Be highly professional and team-oriented with a passion for excellence and eagerness to help the department meet its goals
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete assignments under strict deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure required
- Have a working knowledge of spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite, and using a database (ideally Every Action) to run reports
- Flexible work schedule, some evenings or weekends required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of accountability and initiative; needs to be a self-starter and eager to do team work to support the organization as a whole
MRStates offers an excellent benefit package, including health insurance, 401K, and generous paid vacation, sick, and personal days. The salary range for this position is from $75,497 to $88,924.
