What you will do:


With minimal oversight, perform preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and commissioning of systems, including thorough troubleshooting of systems.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site interaction with clients.

Utilizing a high degree of technical expertise, mentor control technicians, service technicians, and mechanical technicians in building automation tasks.

Accurately complete necessary project and service documentation.

Deliver exceptional service to our clients to address building inefficiencies and resolve service-related issues. As a trusted consultant, you will provide solutions and outcomes during service visits.

How you will do it:

Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of various electronic or digital control systems and the ability to test and modify software in multiple programming languages.

Engage with customers through data collection and site evaluations. Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements to existing systems. Support sales efforts by offering technical recommendations for potential leads.
Manage assigned tasks to ensure professional and efficient execution, prioritizing customer satisfaction. Report any issues or changes to management promptly.

Collaborate with branch managers, service managers, project managers, or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities in an ethical and professional manner.

Provide sketches of field modifications and discrepancies for engineering corrections and documentation. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.
Communicate with customers upon arrival and before departing the work site. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Regularly meet with clients to understand operational challenges. Keep clients informed about the nature of services provided, outstanding issues, and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, or replacements. Promote the sale of additional services.
Adhere to all safety standards set by Johnson Controls and clients. Provide safety leadership and guidance to all controls technicians in the branch. Ensure safety awareness while working on-site with subcontractors.
Train clients in control systems operations. Deliver manuals and documentation for training purposes as needed.
Provide mentorship for the certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems. Coach, support, and train the mechanical workforce on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
Compile job documentation, including completion certificates, customer training forms, training certificates, and punch lists.
Engage in extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to enhance and maintain technical proficiency in the company's product lines. Complete certifications as required by the organization.

Perform other duties related to the installation, commissioning, and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems, as assigned.

Assist in the design and configuration of building control systems as outlined in contract documents.

Create flow diagrams, sequences of operations, bills of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics as necessary.

Assist in the development and testing of software programs required to operate the system according to project specifications.

Compile and/or finalize project as-built and close-out documentation.
Assist in coordinating and creating necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submissions and installations.
Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinate factory-mounting processes to align with factory and project schedules.
Assist in loading and commissioning all system and network-level controllers as required. Help validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
May provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
Keep management and contractors or clients informed of job progress and issues.
Assist in conducting site-specific training for owners/operators on the complete building control system.
Participate in release meetings with the project field team.
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for:
Required

Graduation from a vocational school four-year program, an Associate's degree in a technical field, or two years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.

Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on client sites.
Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated effective writing skills as well as proficiency in software applications.
Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE:
$30.67-$46.06/hr

(Hourly rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market alignment.)
