Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead Northwest Education Access in its mission to provide comprehensive and individualized support to low-income young people in the greater Puget Sound region.
About Northwest Education AccessNorthwest Education Access (NWEdA) is a nonprofit organization that works to help young people build their own path to higher education and beyond. We provide a range of services, including academic support, career guidance, and advocacy, to help young people overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
Our organization is guided by a commitment to anti-racist leadership and a belief that all young people, regardless of income or background, should have the opportunity to access postsecondary education. We are seeking an Executive Director who shares our values and is passionate about leading our organization to achieve its mission.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Executive Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of NWEdA's operations, including strategic planning, fundraising, and program development. This will involve working closely with the board of directors, staff, and stakeholders to ensure that the organization's mission and values are upheld.
The Executive Director will also be responsible for representing NWEdA to external stakeholders, including funders, community partners, and government agencies. This will involve developing and maintaining relationships, advocating for the organization's mission and values, and securing funding and resources to support our work.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, the Executive Director will need to have a strong track record of leadership and management experience, as well as a deep understanding of the issues facing low-income young people in the greater Puget Sound region. They will also need to be able to articulate a clear vision for NWEdA's future and be able to inspire and motivate staff, board members, and stakeholders to work towards a common goal.
The Executive Director will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. They will need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred QualificationsPrior experience serving as an Executive Director or CEO for a nonprofit organization, preferably in a related context, is preferred. A strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and grant compliance, is also preferred.
A Bachelors degree or an Associates degree with relevant professional experience in a relevant area of study is required. A valid Washington State Drivers license and access to a reliable insured vehicle are also required.
