Job Title: Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team at Sigma Systems. As a key member of our Patient Financial Services Billing department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to patient inquiries and requests via phone, email, and in-person
  • Access the billing system to resolve patient inquiries and update patient information
  • Operate within established protocols for a call distribution center
  • Work assigned system work queues to ensure timely resolution of patient inquiries
  • Process patient correspondence, voice mail, and emails for the Single Billing Office
  • Communicate with other areas of the revenue cycle to resolve patient inquiries
  • Perform insurance eligibility and insurance updates, money transfers, account adjustments, and review patient EOBs
  • Handle walk-in patient inquiries on-site and in-person
  • Document all actions taken in the billing system
Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:
  • Comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed
  • Demonstrate use of Quality Improvement in daily operations
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and requirements
  • Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrating Standards of Respect, and contribute to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility, and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • At least 12 months of experience working in a patient service type of role answering phones, scheduling appointments, etc.
  • EPIC and prior call center experience
  • Knowledge of third-party insurance and medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public, physicians, and others, both inside and outside of the organization
  • Computer skills and excellent customer service skills
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
  • Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment
