Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and strengthening existing relationships within a designated geographic area. This role involves engaging with current and previous clients, focusing on selling technical solutions to contractors.
This is a hybrid position requiring one day in the office, with most time spent on the road meeting clients. The ideal candidate should bring energy, presentation skills, and a willingness to learn the technical aspects of our product line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify market opportunities and build relationships with owners, contractors, and potential clients to support bid specifications and close sales.
- Proactively pursue and foster relationships with contractor representatives and owners who could benefit from our products.
- Ensure all activities and opportunities are tracked and updated in the internal CRM.
- Leverage CRM data to develop sales strategies based on historical data.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of our markets regarding pricing, opportunities, and strategy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in utility construction, pipe manufacturing, or building materials sales.
- Experience as a project manager, estimator, or project engineer on comparable projects/markets is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide expertise to clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with CRM systems or related database tools.
