Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer II to join our team at Omaha Public Power District. This is a critical role that will drive the safe and reliable operation of our electrical generating assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and oversight of engineering programs and asset management initiatives
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Conduct technical analyses and provide recommendations to improve plant operation and maintenance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Develop and maintain long-term asset management strategies and plans
Requirements
  • Four-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Two years of equivalent engineering work experience, with a focus on power generation and maintenance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including ASME, OSHA, and NFPA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline related to power generation
  • EIT/FE certification or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination
  • Experience with AutoDesk (CAD, Inventor, Vault), Bentley MicroStation, PowerBI, and Tableau
  • Strong research and decision-making skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences
