Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer I to join our team at Omaha Public Power District. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our electrical generating assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and support for engineering programs and asset management initiatives.
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance programs to improve plant operation and maintenance.
  • Conduct acceptance testing and ensure compliance with regulations and project objectives.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and cost evaluations to recommend projects and inform budgeting decisions.
  • Establish long-term asset management strategies and plans to achieve operational, financial, and customer satisfaction goals.

Requirements:

  • Four-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (ABET-accredited degree).
  • Basic college graduate-level oral and written communications skills.
  • Solid quantitative skills with the ability to analyze data and report results.
  • Basic understanding of the utility industry.
  • Maintain cognizance of emerging industry operating experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline related to power generation.
  • EIT / Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
  • Engineering internship / Coop in power generation or related field.
