Job Description

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care and support to our residents, helping them achieve their personal goals and develop life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct care and support to residents, promoting independence and dignity in all aspects of their lives.
  2. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized support plans that foster skill development, social interaction, and community integration.
  3. Prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of residents by adhering to established policies and procedures.
  4. Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medication records.
  5. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote personal growth, social interaction, and community involvement.
  6. Document daily progress, incidents, and concerns using established documentation systems.
  7. Provide safe and reliable transportation for residents to appointments and community events.
  8. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field highly preferred.
  2. Minimum of one year of direct support experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  3. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  4. Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  5. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  8. Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and positioning of residents.
