Position Summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee and guide all maintenance activities and designated projects within the facility, ensuring alignment with Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement objectives. This role is situated at our operational facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective maintenance protocols on machinery through proactive maintenance strategies and methodologies.
  • Delegate and oversee the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) work orders, conduct routine assessments of the PPM, and report necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all labor, materials, and tasks through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) on a daily basis.
  • Evaluate existing planned job packages for thoroughness and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary. Finalize labor, materials, components, methods, and priorities, and inform the planner of any modifications.
  • Guide the team on approved maintenance tasks based on the mechanics' skill levels.
  • Offer assistance and expertise in diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Support initiatives for process enhancement, cleanliness, and safety within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, implementing necessary safety programs, conducting formal training, and monitoring adherence.
  • Oversee maintenance expenses and budget management.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers.
  • Engage in the design and development of future production capabilities by participating in design discussions; collaborating with Research & Development on product modifications and enhancements; and updating maintenance procedures and schedules accordingly.
  • Responsible for generating capital project proposals, organizing work for capital initiatives, and executing within established timelines and budgets.
  • Accountable for upholding Food Safety and Quality Systems as designated.
  • Participate in facility audits and assist in addressing corrective actions resulting from these audits.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience in maintenance management, repair, and/or equipment assembly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of preventive maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control; planning, problem-solving, and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in the electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial food production equipment is advantageous.
  • Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
