Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Motor Systems. This role is crucial for overseeing the transition from DC to AC motors, ensuring operational efficiency across our facilities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the performance of our electrical systems and will be recognized at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and enhance Reliability and Maintenance strategies to maximize the efficiency of both DC and AC motors.
  • Foster collaboration among various plants and promote adherence to the company's cultural values.
  • Integrate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards into all motor-related projects.
  • Identify and establish reliable suppliers for the maintenance and rebuilding of DC/AC motors in each region.
  • Develop and update maintenance, storage, and rebuilding protocols for DC/AC motors.
  • Provide training and mentorship to plant personnel on both corrective and preventive maintenance for DC/AC motors.
  • Plan and oversee the gradual transition from DC motors to AC motors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in reliability and maintenance.
Knowledge Requirements:
  • Expertise in large DC and AC motors, including synchronous and inductive types.
  • Familiarity with converters and inverters for AC/DC and AC/AC applications.
  • Experience with PLCs and controllers, particularly from Siemens, ABB, Rockwell, or GE.
Additional Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of substations and transformers, including power generation and distribution.
  • Proficiency in reliability tools such as FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Project management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel between 25% and 50% of the time annually.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Experience in the aluminum or steel manufacturing sectors.
  • Established relationships with manufacturers and service providers for motors.
  • Background in conducting FMEAs and RCAs.
Work Schedule:
