About the Role

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our team in the Richmond, VA market. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and closing deals to drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development: Actively seek out new clients and close prospective business, maintaining multiple sales cycles simultaneously.
  • Prospecting and Qualification: Qualify prospect opportunities and align with Sales Manager and General Manager on viability.
  • Customer Relationships: Build relationships with and gain the trust of customers to understand their needs and strategically work toward a solution to resolve their challenges.
  • Industry Knowledge: Continuously learn new techniques by establishing and expanding your knowledge on paper/packaging solutions and the corrugated industry.
  • Performance Metrics: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals as determined by sales budget and forecasts.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Proactively communicate sales pipeline by leveraging technology, e.g. Microsoft Office 365 and Customer Relationship Management (CRM – Sales Force).
  • Operational Support: Consult with management to understand operational needs and provide market feedback in relation to product types, pricing, and/or other customer solutions.
  • Customer Service: Work with a sense of urgency to address customer concerns and provide creative solutions to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with Production, Customer Service, Design, and Accounting to efficiently generate quotes, order tooling, coordinate trials, set up credit, manage orders, and resolve customer concerns.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience within a similar role with a track record of turning leads into actual sales.
  • Revenue Management: Experience managing an annual revenue portfolio of $1-$20 Million.
  • Manufacturing Site Sales: Experience generating sales for a manufacturing site.
  • Corrugated Industry Knowledge: Experience working within the corrugated industry preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Valid Driver's License, personal accountability, and a growth mindset.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective negotiation and persuasion skills, dynamic communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with all types of personalities.
  • Adaptability: Adaptability is key as you will need to navigate and demonstrate flexibility in an environment that can be ambiguous and uncertain.
  • Team Player: Go-getter, self-starter, and team player.
  • Enthusiasm and Creativity: General high level of enthusiasm, creative, and innovative ability.
