Role Overview

The Legal department at The Pokémon Company International is seeking a qualified attorney with robust experience in finance and commercial sales to support our expanding B2B operations. This role involves close collaboration with the North America and LATAM trading card sales, finance, tax, and procurement teams to structure commercial agreements and lead strategic negotiations. Additionally, the attorney will provide legal guidance to the Procurement and Facilities teams on matters that enhance internal operations and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary legal advisor for the North American and Latin American trading card sales teams, leading negotiations with resellers, retailers, and promotional partners across the Americas.
  • Offer transactional support to the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, and royalty accounting.
  • Draft, structure, and negotiate various commercial sales and procurement agreements, including service contracts and product purchase agreements.
  • Advise on commercial issues affecting the B2B supply chain, including manufacturing, shipping, warehousing, and compliance with trade regulations.
  • Provide legal support on matters related to facilities and operational infrastructure, including sourcing service providers and procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with legal team members to deliver comprehensive advice to client teams.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of contract templates, policies, and operational playbooks.

Qualifications

  • Six to eight years of relevant professional experience.
  • J.D. or equivalent degree with a valid bar license to practice law in Washington State.
  • A minimum of five years of experience advising clients on commercial transactions, particularly in sales, finance, and operations.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with U.S. competition law, intellectual property, finance, tax, trade compliance, and anti-bribery regulations.
  • Proven ability to innovate processes that enhance operational efficiency and transparency.
  • Experience supporting the growth of a business in terms of geography and volume.
  • Experience working with multinational corporations and facilitating cross-cultural communications.
  • In-house legal experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is preferred.
