About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at Plant Riverside District. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, flavoring, and cooking process for daily specials and menu creations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure that all food prepared meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of cooks and stewards to achieve exceptional results.
  • Menu Development: Assist the Sous Chef in creating new menu items and specials that meet the tastes and preferences of our guests.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure that the kitchen and all equipment are clean and well-maintained at all times.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and coaching to kitchen staff to improve their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Culinary Degree: A culinary degree or related training equivalent in the hospitality/restaurant industry is required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title is required.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Food Safety Certification: Food Safety Manager Certification is preferred or must be attained within 30 days.
Working Environment

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience. The incumbent must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office. The incumbent must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration. The incumbent must be able to work safely in a kitchen environment with high temperatures and humidity. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent is regularly required to move 10lbs on a daily basis. The incumbent is regularly required to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis. The incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane, or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting and standing for long and short periods of time.
