Position Overview

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Longbranch Retreat & Recovery, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the well-being of our patients throughout their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments, ensuring accurate documentation with proper grammar and complete sentences.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams regarding new admissions and patient care needs.
  • Administer and record vital signs, along with various assessments related to patient safety and health.
  • Maintain meticulous records of medications, including administration and monitoring of their effects.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage clinical medication plans for patients.
  • Administer medications through various routes and monitor patient responses accordingly.
  • Input medication orders into the electronic medical record system accurately.
  • Oversee the Medication Administration Record, ensuring precise documentation of all medication-related activities.
  • Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population, adapting to their unique needs.
  • Work with staff to assess nursing requirements and develop comprehensive care plans for high-risk patients.
  • Assist in educational initiatives for patients and families, enhancing their understanding of treatment protocols.
  • Engage with physicians to offer guidance on medication management and patient education.
  • Deliver nursing care that aligns with the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient conditions, ensuring timely intervention when necessary.
  • Document nursing incidents and medication discrepancies accurately.
  • Manage the medication system, including planning, storage, ordering, and evaluation of medications.

Ensure confidentiality of patient records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.


Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Vocational or Professional Nurse licensure from the Louisiana Board of Nursing.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience as a staff nurse in chemical dependency or behavioral health settings.

Work Schedule

This position may be available as Full-Time or Part-Time.
