Position Overview
As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care within our recovery center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting thorough assessments and documenting findings with clarity and accuracy, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
- Communicating effectively with interdisciplinary team members regarding new patient admissions.
- Administering and recording vital signs, along with various assessments including fall risk, seizure precautions, and mental health evaluations.
- Maintaining meticulous records of all medications, including administration and inventory management.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to support patients dealing with addiction and mental health challenges.
- Administering medications through various routes and performing necessary health checks as required.
- Managing medication orders within the electronic health record system.
- Overseeing the Medication Administration Record to ensure accurate documentation of medication efficacy and responses.
- Providing compassionate care to a diverse patient population across different stages of recovery.
- Working closely with patients and their families to develop tailored care plans for complex cases.
- Assisting in the communication of essential nursing information to support utilization review processes.
- Designing and implementing educational programs for patients and their families.
- Collaborating with physicians to offer guidance on medication management and patient education.
- Delivering nursing care that is customized to meet individual patient needs, following the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Documenting any nursing incidents and medication discrepancies accurately.
- Managing the medication management system, ensuring safe practices in medication handling and administration.
Ensuring the confidentiality of patient records in accordance with applicable laws is paramount.
Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Vocational or Professional Nurse licensure from the Louisiana Board of Nursing.
Preferred Experience:
Experience as a staff nurse in chemical dependency or behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
