Position Summary:Under the general oversight of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering critical life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gas therapies to patients across all age groups. This role involves assisting individuals with both acute and chronic conditions in their journey towards a healthier lifestyle through education and the application of diverse therapeutic techniques.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient assessments and collaborate on care planning with other healthcare professionals.
- Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to support staff, ensuring effective communication and guidance.
- Engage in clear communication with colleagues, physicians, and nursing staff to facilitate optimal patient care.
- Uphold high standards of clinical excellence in accordance with departmental policies.
- Demonstrate expertise in various clinical specialties, life support systems, and diagnostic equipment.
- Administer prescribed therapeutic modalities and ensure patient safety and maximum benefit.
- Monitor and manage medical gases as per physician directives and established protocols.
- Evaluate patients' pulmonary status and communicate findings to the medical team, recommending suitable therapies.
- Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and assess patient responses to interventions.
- Collect and analyze arterial and capillary blood samples, documenting results and communicating with physicians as necessary.
- Perform site-specific duties, including equipment maintenance and testing.

- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred; minimum of an Associate of Science Degree required.
- Recent graduates or candidates with two years of experience in a tertiary healthcare setting are encouraged to apply.
- Current Respiratory Therapist License from the state of practice.
- Successful completion of the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) registration examination.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials are required.
- BLS certification from AHA is mandatory prior to employment.
- No prior work experience is necessary.
