Job Summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Examiner to join our team. As a Senior Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for investigating and settling complex claims, working with clients and carriers to resolve disputes, and analyzing claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and settle complex claims promptly and equitably, working with clients and carriers to resolve disputes and negotiate settlements.
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to reduce claims frequency and severity.
  • Work with clients and carriers to resolve claims disputes and negotiate settlements, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the outcome.
  • Develop and implement claims handling procedures and protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency in claims processing.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner, and that all parties are informed of the status of their claims.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in claims handling, and apply this knowledge to improve claims outcomes and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as risk management or insurance.
  • Workers Compensation (WC) Adjuster License required according to jurisdictional requirements.
  • 4-8 years of experience in claims or a related field, with a strong background in claims investigation and settlement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU Designations are highly desirable.
