Clinical Documentation Specialist

At Connecticut Children's, we are seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare quality improvement team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation. Your expertise will help us provide high-quality care to our patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform admission, concurrent, and retrospective medical reviews to ensure accurate reimbursement.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to improve clinical documentation.
- Develop and implement education programs to enhance clinical documentation skills.
- Apply standardized criteria and guidelines to determine the appropriateness of admissions and patient classification.
- Monitor resource utilization and ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of pediatric clinical experience.
- Preferred experience in utilization review, case management, or care coordination.
