POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Director, the People Operations Manager will oversee multiple facets of the Human Resources department, including but not limited to payroll management, employee benefits, leave administration, reporting, training, policy implementation, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various HR functions, including talent acquisition, training development, and conflict resolution. This role will actively contribute to discussions that shape the human capital strategy of the organization, encompassing payroll management, employee mentoring, and the enforcement of company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster a culture of safety that prioritizes employee well-being through engagement and accountability. Serve as a role model for safety values and challenge leadership to maintain a proactive approach to employee engagement.
- Encourage a positive workplace atmosphere that enhances engagement and retention. Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and make informed recommendations. Actively participate in identifying gaps in the employee experience and contribute to action planning.
- Assist in the formulation of departmental goals and objectives, executing plans to achieve these targets. Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on the application of company policies to ensure consistent interpretation across departments.
- Collaborate with the HR team to support initiatives and ensure consistent messaging throughout the HR function. Maintain accountability for the effective implementation of policies.
- Support recruitment initiatives, develop staffing and retention strategies, and manage onboarding processes. Offer guidance to the Talent Acquisition Specialist in creating comprehensive recruitment plans and identifying necessary job skills and competencies.
- Oversee the new hire orientation program for the region, ensuring that training is effectively tracked and completed within designated timeframes.
- Address employee concerns and complaints, conducting investigations as necessary and recommending appropriate actions. Assist managers with disciplinary measures and performance improvement plans.
- Review and provide coaching on disciplinary and performance management actions. Offer consulting support to leaders in talent assessment, performance management, and talent identification for various programs.
- Manage leave administration and participate in discussions with employees to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Work collaboratively with leaders to align HR practices with business objectives and drive organizational success. Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: Standard 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday.
Work Location: Onsite, no remote work options available.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write.
- Capable of reaching with hands and arms, bending, climbing, and using fingers and hands to manipulate objects.
- Proficient in using standard office equipment such as computers, smartphones, printers, and photocopiers.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Capable of lifting files and accessing desk drawers and filing cabinets.
