Role Overview: The Customer Service Operations Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Order to Cash (OTC) process within Diageo's spirits division. This position acts as a primary contact for supply sites, ensuring exceptional customer service through effective collaboration, proactive order management, and engaging customer interactions.
As a key liaison, you will connect our supply sites with the Customer Logistics teams, facilitating seamless service delivery to our customers across North America.
Your responsibilities include monitoring and ensuring the timely movement of products from Diageo facilities globally, within the United States, and from third-party suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop a deep understanding of Order to Cash processes and Import Route to Markets.
- Advocate for outstanding service to our distributors by working collaboratively across various functions.
- Guarantee consistent product delivery from Diageo supply sites to distributors.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential delivery issues.
- Foster and enhance business relationships with supplier contacts, managing communications and expectations effectively.
- Conduct regular collaborative meetings with key stakeholders in the supply chain (customer operations, importing supply centers) to enhance supply chain efficiencies.
- Actively support new product launches and phase-outs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in business processes through critical thinking, sharing best practices, and ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams.
Performance Metrics:
- Manage an average annual volume of 2,000 orders, equating to 2 million cases with a Net Sales Value of $350 million.
- Maintain, monitor, and influence key performance indicators related to service, cost, cash flow, and quality.
- Provide sound business recommendations balancing cost, service, cash flow, and quality to determine optimal solutions.
- Ensure adherence to order guidelines and proactively suggest improvements in order management processes to supply centers.
- Represent Customer Logistics in cross-functional meetings to shape and influence critical business processes, including innovation, system enhancements, and logistics networks.
- Support the ongoing development and refinement of Customer Logistics processes and metrics to foster continuous improvements in service, cost, and quality.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service, supply chain planning, or logistics roles within the beverage alcohol industry or a fast-paced consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
- A degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related fields.
- Proficiency in order management systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and manage customer expectations.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
