Position Summary:

We are in search of a proactive and dynamic HSE Specialist to become part of our Infrastructure Department. The ideal candidate will take charge of conceptualizing and overseeing the design of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System for diverse construction and commissioning projects related to industrial gas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and execution of a comprehensive HSE plan applicable across the department and tailored for specific projects.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
  • Review and assess HSE plans submitted by contractors for various construction and commissioning endeavors.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with external consultants for the design and implementation of the HSE plan.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform thorough risk assessments and work with stakeholders to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture within the department.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, preparing detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities, preparing reports as necessary.
  • Stay informed about current HSE regulations and industry standards, proactively suggesting updates to policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. Relevant certifications or advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an HSE Specialist or in a comparable role, preferably within the Oil and Gas or Construction sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to identify hazards, assess risks, and formulate effective control measures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging HSE training sessions and conduct impactful presentations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety, or API certifications are highly desirable but not mandatory.
