Position Overview

We are in search of a skilled Android Developer to join our Mobile Team, responsible for crafting innovative Android applications that seamlessly integrate with our service platform. This role reports directly to the Director of Mobile and involves overseeing application architecture, development, and the introduction of new features to enhance consumer mobile solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in Android design and development, with a portfolio that includes successful applications available on the Google Play Store. This position requires a hands-on approach, along with the ability to transform diverse and evolving requirements into actionable development plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of mobile applications for the Android platform.
  • Engage in code reviews, wireframe designs, and proof of concept initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to analyze and resolve production issues and defects.
  • Work alongside the Release Engineering team during app deployment processes.
  • Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile methodologies, iterative development, estimations, and design sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a technical lead role with a deep understanding of Android UX and UI design principles.
  • At least 5 years of extensive experience with Java, Android Studio, Gradle, and other relevant IDE tools.
  • Strong foundation in Object-Oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Experience in optimizing high-volume mobile applications.
  • Proficient in integrating with RESTful API backends.
  • Adept at thriving in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills for technical specifications and project planning.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across various teams and roles.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% for onshore and offshore engagements, including conferences.
