About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to lead the development of our Android app, Notability. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing a complex and high-performing native Android application.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a robust and scalable Android architecture
  • Develop high-quality Android code, following best practices and coding standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features and technical requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code is delivered
  • Communicate technical progress and risks to the leadership team
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience developing, architecting, optimizing and shipping high-performance Android applications
  • Strong understanding of Android architecture, design patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with large Android codebases and complex, high-performance apps
  • Strong product focus and acumen
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication & collaboration skills
  • Passionate about solutions while humble in the face of opposing ideas
  • Desire to embrace the way engineering is changing (more immutable data, functional patterns, etc) while also being intensely pragmatic
