Job Title: Supervised Visitation Specialist

Reports To: SV Team Lead

Hours: FT – evenings and weekends are required

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, hourly

Summary: The Supervised Visitation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in high-conflict family situations. This position requires a unique blend of empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Duties:

  • Schedules and supervises visits between non-custodial parents/caregivers and children.
  • Conducts thorough intake evaluations to assess physical and emotional parenting skills/knowledge, boundary setting, and overall parent-child interaction.
  • Performs comprehensive note taking using DAP format and writes regular reports to the court, which may include testifying in court.
  • Serves as a liaison and family intermediary between custodial and noncustodial caregivers, the court system, and other service providers.
  • Regularly enters data into Excel and the agency database and maintains accurate file records.
  • Represents the agency in community or interagency activities and attends professional development opportunities when available.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A background in the counseling/mental health field is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain neutral in high-conflict situations.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office skills and accurate typing/data entry skills are required.

Work Environment: This position requires regular evening hours and the ability to work a flexible schedule. The Supervised Visitation Specialist may occasionally encounter an angry or threatening client who is under the influence of alcohol/drugs and/or be exposed to potential hostile domestic relations. There are occasional cases where allegations of abuse/sexual abuse have been made.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
