About the Role

Penske Logistics is seeking a skilled Operations Supervisor to lead our transportation team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising drivers, ensuring customer requirements are met, and driving process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Management
    • Establish and sustain a high-performing team by providing coaching, training, and feedback to associates.
    • Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards, and provide corrective action when necessary.
    • Motivate and engage associates by recognizing and rewarding their achievements.
  • Operations
    • Supervise logistics operations, including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch, and documentation control.
    • Conduct team meetings to discuss goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
    • Evaluate and recommend changes in work methods to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Finance
    • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, including tracking MPG, returns, and damages.
    • Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability.
  • Safety
    • Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities align with the location safety strategy.
    • Provide associates with training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance.
  • Growth and Customer Experience
    • Understand customer goals and objectives and work to meet and exceed expectations.
    • Determine areas for Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Fleet and Assets
    • Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment.
    • Work with associates to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage through problems, think critically, and make decisions independently.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
