As a vital member of the Member Services Division, the Branch Operations Specialist III plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall member experience.

The Branch Operations Specialist III - Head Teller is tasked with ensuring the seamless operation of the Finance Center while adhering to established protocols and regulatory standards. This role involves fostering new memberships and nurturing existing member relationships through proactive engagement across various banking channels, including Retail Banking, Consumer Lending, Commercial Lending, Mortgage Lending, and CUSO Channels. A successful BOS III will provide exemplary service and advocate for members in a professional and courteous manner, all while contributing to the growth and security of the Credit Union.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional service to all current and prospective members.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all Credit Union products and services, effectively educating members on the benefits of SCU membership while identifying opportunities for acquisition, retention, and cross-selling.
  • Investigate and resolve member requests, complaints, and issues promptly using appropriate channels.
  • Build advisory relationships with members to deepen connections and create referral opportunities.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Conduct proactive member outreach for sales and service initiatives.
  • Follow up with members to ensure a positive experience.
  • Facilitate new member onboarding processes as needed.
  • Utilize Credit Union resources and innovative technologies to enhance member interactions.
  • Perform all Personal Banker duties, including account management for various types of accounts and services.
  • Manage cash drawers, request cash and coin as necessary, and ensure daily reconciliation.
  • Handle all transactional responsibilities, including cash and check deposits, disbursements, and verification processes.
  • Stay informed on all Credit Union products, services, policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Assist the Contact Center during peak call volumes.
  • Oversee daily operations of vaults, ATMs, ITMs, and other cash management systems in compliance with policies.
  • Act as a liaison with cash vendors and courier services.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
  • Conduct audits and manage document retention processes.
  • Complete necessary reports in compliance with Credit Union policies and regulations.
  • Support management with member activity updates and account reviews.
  • Assist with Digital Banking applications and member support for online services.
  • Travel to various branch locations as required.
  • Participate in community events and business development initiatives.
  • Provide Notary services to members.
  • Achieve satisfactory ratings on audits and examinations.
  • Meet and exceed monthly loan goals in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to the Credit Union's mission by performing relevant duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification, with two to three years of teller experience, including at least one year in a leadership capacity.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize and build rapport.
  • Clear and articulate communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capacity to work under direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve personal and team goals.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Familiarity with loan processing procedures and credit union regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit union products, services, and policies.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to function in a typical office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Frequent sitting and repetitive hand motions for typing.
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking and hearing, with visual acuity for reporting.
  • Occasional lifting of heavy items over 45 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work unusual hours for special events.
  • Occasional travel up to 50 miles.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
