The Branch Operations Specialist III - Head Teller is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the Finance Center while ensuring adherence to established protocols and regulatory standards. This role involves initiating new memberships and nurturing existing member relationships by identifying referral opportunities across various banking channels, including Retail Banking, Consumer Lending, Commercial Lending, Mortgage Lending, and CUSO Channels. A successful BOS III will deliver exceptional service, acting as a member advocate with professionalism and courtesy, all while contributing to the growth and protection of the Credit Union.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding service to all current and prospective members.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all Credit Union products and services, effectively educating members on the benefits of SCU membership while identifying opportunities for acquisition, retention, and cross-selling.
- Address and resolve member requests, complaints, and issues promptly using appropriate channels.
- Build advisory relationships with members to deepen connections and generate referral opportunities.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently while ensuring member confidentiality.
- Conduct proactive member outreach for sales and service initiatives.
- Follow up with members to guarantee a positive experience.
- Facilitate new member onboarding activities as necessary.
- Utilize Credit Union resources and innovative technologies to enhance the member experience.
- Perform all Personal Banker duties, including managing various account types and services.
- Maintain cash drawers, request cash and coin as needed, and reconcile drawers daily.
- Handle all transactional responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Stay informed on all Credit Union products, services, policies, and regulations.
- Assist the Contact Center during peak call volumes.
- Ensure compliance with daily vault operations and cash management procedures.
- Act as a liaison with cash vendors and courier services.
- Provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
- Conduct audits and manage document retention processes.
- Complete required reports in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Support management with member activity updates and correspondence.
- Assist with Digital Banking applications and member support.
- Travel to various branch locations as required.
- Participate in community events and business development efforts.
- Offer Notary services to members.
- Achieve satisfactory ratings on audits and examinations.
- Meet or exceed monthly loan goals ethically and in compliance with regulations.
- Contribute to the Credit Union's mission by performing additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification, along with two to three years of teller experience, including at least one year in a leadership capacity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize and build rapport.
- Clear and articulate communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven customer service and communication expertise.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Capability to work under direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve individual and team goals.
- Intermediate mathematical proficiency.
- Familiarity with loan processing procedures and relevant regulations.
- Understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to function in a typical office environment with frequent interruptions.
- Frequent sitting and repetitive hand motions for typing.
- Effective communication through speaking and hearing, with visual acuity for reporting and presenting information.
- Occasional lifting of heavy items over 45 lbs.
- Flexibility to work unusual hours for special events.
- Occasional travel up to 50 miles may be required.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
