Position Overview

The Stanford Blood Center is in search of a dedicated and innovative Research Communications Librarian to enhance our services aimed at educating researchers and educators about the scholarly communication landscape. This role is pivotal in analyzing and communicating the impact of research outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement educational initiatives focused on scholarly communication in a digital context, including copyright issues.
  • Coordinate research impact services to assist in tracking and disseminating the influence of various research outputs, such as scholarly articles and datasets.
  • Stay informed about national and international trends in intellectual property rights and academic publishing, organizing events to share this knowledge.
  • Provide expert consultations and training on best practices in data management and research impact.
  • Support analysis and application of impact data, offering guidance to departments on citation metrics.
  • Act as a liaison for faculty, staff, and students within designated departments.
  • Develop and deliver training materials, including web-based tools and in-person workshops.
  • Conduct comprehensive searches to support research projects and systematic reviews.
  • Collaborate with library staff on projects related to research and scholarly communication.
  • Recommend tools and software to facilitate the publication process for researchers.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Library Science or a related field is required, along with a solid understanding of academic library operations and at least two years of relevant experience.
