Work Type: CE - Clinician Educator
Location: Stanford University
Categories: School of Medicine

The Division of Epilepsy within the Department of Neurology at Stanford University is seeking a qualified Neurologist for a faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinician Educator Line.

The primary criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line is a demonstrated excellence in a balanced combination of clinical practice, educational responsibilities, administrative duties, and/or scholarly activities that align with the programmatic needs of the department. The academic rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate should possess board licensure in Neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and should be Board certified or Board eligible in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology. Experience in both inpatient and outpatient management of epilepsy patients, as well as proficiency in video-EEG assessments within an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, is essential. Additional skills in epilepsy surgical evaluations, routine EEGs, critical care EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, high-density dipole-localizing EEGs, depth electrode recordings, and intraoperative corticography are highly valued.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Neurohospitalist coverage, as this will be part of the responsibilities associated with the position. A proven track record of conducting clinical research with published findings is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities will include providing clinical care for epilepsy patients, interpreting a diverse range of EEGs, participating in patient care and educational conferences, and engaging in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Involvement in scholarly activities is also expected. Over time, the distribution of job responsibilities may evolve based on departmental needs, available funding, and the interests of the faculty member.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Stanford is committed to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Stanford also welcomes applications from individuals who can contribute additional dimensions to the University's research, teaching, and clinical missions.

The Neurology Department, School of Medicine, and Stanford University value faculty who are dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates may optionally include a brief discussion of how their work will advance these ideals as part of their research or teaching statement.

Interested candidates should submit a CV, a brief candidate statement, and the names and contact information for three references. Applications must be submitted through the designated Faculty Search and Applicant Tracking website.
