We are seeking a dedicated Research Engagement Librarian to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to enhancing the research and publication efforts within our academic community. The position is designed for a three-year term, with potential for extension, and requires a presence on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute outreach initiatives focused on research communication, including open access, publishing strategies, copyright regulations, and compliance with funding mandates.
  • Create and curate educational materials related to scholarly communication.
  • Offer expert consultation services to faculty, staff, and students regarding scholarly communication matters.
  • Conduct training sessions on various tools and platforms related to research dissemination.
  • Collaborate with library staff on projects and services that enhance scholarly communication, including:
    • Facilitating the deposit of scholarly works into institutional repositories.
    • Improving repository features and workflows.
    • Implementing digital literacy training relevant to open scholarship.
    • Promoting the use of scholarly identifiers.
  • Stay informed on trends and developments in scholarly publishing and data sharing.

Qualifications:

For Librarian 2 Level:

  • Master's degree in Library Science or a related field, with a solid understanding of academic libraries and scholarly practices, along with two or more years of relevant experience.

For Librarian 3 Level:

  • Master's degree in Library Science or a related field, with a comprehensive understanding of academic libraries and scholarly publishing, and five years of relevant experience demonstrating high-level responsibility.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong understanding of scholarly communication practices, including open access and copyright.
  • Familiarity with scholarly identifiers and bibliometric data sources.
  • Experience with institutional repository workflows.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively within a team.

Work Environment:

This position may involve working in various settings, including confined spaces and at heights. The role requires a commitment to safety and adherence to university policies.
