Reports To: Guest Services Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Baggage Service Associate plays a vital role in enhancing the guest experience by providing assistance with luggage and packages during arrivals and departures. This position also serves as a welcoming presence in the lobby, addressing guest inquiries and ensuring their needs are met with attentiveness and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome guests upon their arrival and guide them to their designated areas, such as rooms, conference facilities, or dining establishments.
  • Efficiently load and unload luggage onto carts, transporting items to and from guest accommodations.
  • Facilitate check-in and check-out processes for guests.
  • Inform guests about hotel amenities and services available to them.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve any concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Assist with luggage storage and retrieval as needed.
  • Support guests with transportation arrangements and provide directions to local attractions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lobby and other public spaces.
  • Ensure proper order of luggage stored in designated areas.
  • Coordinate with Guest Services team regarding special guests and VIP arrivals.
  • Adhere to all safety and security protocols.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Keep an inventory of supplies necessary for job functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, such as Bellman or Luggage Attendant, is preferred.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items.
  • Experience in a hotel or condominium setting is advantageous.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Strong communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with guests, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
