Job Overview

Absorb the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative medicines and solutions at AbbVie, a leading biopharmaceutical company. As a Senior Scientist I or II in Chemistry, you will play a pivotal role in the scale-up of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) for preclinical and early clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project science within your area of expertise, resolving key project hurdles and assumptions through effective utilization of available information and technical expertise.
  • Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present work at scientific conferences, showcasing your expertise as an effective writer and communicator of research or other regulatory materials.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting, adhering to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, quality, and material handling.
  • Keep accurate and current records of research and/or project-related documents according to AbbVie policies.
  • Stay current with industry developments and field advancements, integrating this knowledge into the group's research efforts and generating new research or development strategies to address project and divisional goals.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical experts to facilitate scientific achievement and demonstrate flexibility in providing support in Process Chemistry and Radiochemistry groups as project demands require.
Qualifications
  • A PhD in organic chemistry and 0-3 years of experience; MS in organic chemistry and 10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise.
  • Effective writer and communicator of research or other regulatory materials required.
  • Ability to seek out new information in the literature and incorporate this into individual projects as well as the overall program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the use and handling of radioactive materials (Beta emitters).
