About the Role:

The General Manager is the face of Tatte within our communities and to our guests. This role is responsible for all facets of front-of-house café operations dedicated to delivering a warm, authentic, and inspiring environment for both guests and team members, to thoughtful leadership, and to overall restaurant performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate complete ownership of the business, including total responsibility for the four walls and P&L ownership.
  • Model an authentic, warm guest experience and be responsible for instilling great service into the team.
  • Ensure the café is optimally staffed with individuals that embody Tatte's values.
  • Demonstrate keen people performance management skills with the ability to identify talent and develop managers and hourly team members.
  • Display skill in leading and navigating hard conversations.
  • Continuously uphold Tatte brand and visual standards.
  • Lead team members through effective and efficient operational execution.
  • Ensure Food Safety in the café.
  • Lead all café-level change management activities to ensure effective and accurate communication of new product, service, and operational information that can be acted upon by the team.
  • Ensure food, labor, and controllable costs stay consistently within guardrails set by the company.
  • Oversee all café administrative requirements.

Working Conditions / Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs (including days, evenings, weekends, and as emergencies arise).
  • Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat, or walk for extended periods of time, walk up and down stairs, and read.
  • Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working as a General Manager, preferably in a high-volume, full-service, and/or polished fast-casual restaurant.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • High School education or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hospitality Education: B.S. in Hospitality Management and/or A.S. Hotel and Restaurant Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience working with UltiPro, Toast - POS System, CrunchTime/TeamworX.
  • ServSafe, Allergen, and ChokeSaver Certifications.
