Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our culinary team at Daily Provisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily preparation of food and pastry items for service across all our locations. Key Responsibilities- Bakery Operations: Demonstrate a strong understanding of baking and pastry techniques, production, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
- Station Mise en Place: Consistently ensure that station mise en place is excellently prepped, seasoned, and prepared to the standards taught by our culinary leaders.
- Ingredient Knowledge: Maintain a sound and inquisitive working knowledge of common seasonal ingredients and retain new knowledge of ingredients used across all our locations.
- Commissary Kitchen Operations: Effectively participate in a professionally run commissary kitchen, restocking stations as needed and performing last-minute or special-order prep needs with a calm sense of urgency.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively and hospitably with all teams throughout the day.
- Work Area Maintenance: Maintain an orderly and neat work area displaying calm professionalism to promote food quality and reduce waste.
- Culinary Training: Culinary training degree and/or restaurant or bakery experience.
- Pastry Knowledge: Knowledge of pastry ingredients and fundamental procedures.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk/stand for extended periods of time.
- Language Skills: English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required.
- Competitive Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $18-$20/hr.
