Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Specialist to join our team at PGL. As a key member of our supply chain management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics processes, from forecasting and planning to execution and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Forecasting and Planning: Collaborate with supply chain planners to forecast demand and create supply plans that ensure the availability of materials and products.
  • Supply Chain Management: Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes and determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Performance Metrics: Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as distribution cost or availability.
  • Customer Service: Analyze customer needs to determine how to increase service scope, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  • Process Improvement: Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
  • Supplier Management: Assist with the negotiation of prices and terms with suppliers and/or vendors.
  • Communication: Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, provide performance feedback, or discuss production forecasts or changes.
  • Process Implementation: Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
  • Business Development: Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • Supplier Performance: Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Facilities Coordination: Participate in the coordination of new facilities implementation.
  • Analysis: Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.
  • Transportation Management: Select transportation solutions to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
  • Process Documentation: Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
  • Forecasting and Costing: Develop forecasts or standard cost lists.
  • Material Handling: Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
Requirements
  • Education: Industry-related degree and/or certification.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of logistics services and/or warehouse fulfillment experience.
  • AOG Experience: A plus.
  • Hazmat Certification: A plus.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with all requisite compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Availability: Willing to work variable schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
