The Central Business Office is in search of a Revenue Cycle Specialist who will ensure that the department is effectively managing patient and financial information.

The specialist will be tasked with the audit and reconciliation of accounts receivable. This role will address any missing charges while guaranteeing that all charges are accurately recorded.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the billing process to confirm the precision of billing documentation, discrepancies/edits, and aids in the coordination of systems' reconciliation.
  • Conducts audits of billing, collections, posting, variance, and data entry to ensure adherence to protocols and identify discrepancies.
  • Creates audit tool(s) to monitor and track audit outcomes, facilitating meetings with relevant units and directors to discuss data analysis results and potential corrective actions, providing feedback on reviews/audits, root causes, and suggestions for corrective measures and implementations.
  • Reviews non-governmental payer contracts to ensure that contractual adjustments are accurate.
  • Upon request, examines and/or validates billing accounts, communicating findings as necessary.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Identifies and resolves any unique circumstances affecting delayed payment submissions. Reviews billing information for accuracy and completeness, addressing any identified issues. Stays updated on statutory and regulatory changes that impact job functions. Escalates issues and situations within the division when necessary. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures while safeguarding University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
General understanding of office procedures and operations.

Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports, and correspondence.

Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve a variety of issues.

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
