Key Responsibilities

The Nutritional Services Assistant collaborates with the Dietary Manager to implement necessary adjustments and adheres to established food service protocols. Additional responsibilities may include food preparation.

This role involves ensuring compliance with food safety procedures and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Delivering meals according to established portion control guidelines.
  • Presenting meals in an appealing and appetizing manner.
  • Timely serving of meals as required.
  • Participating in routine cleaning tasks, including work surfaces, meat preparation areas, and refrigeration units.
  • Maintaining floor cleanliness through sweeping and mopping as directed.
  • Washing and sanitizing kitchen utensils, dishes, and cooking equipment following established protocols.
  • Managing waste disposal and ensuring a clean, safe work environment.
  • Setting up meal trays, food carts, and dining areas as instructed.
  • Distributing menus as directed.
  • Assisting in verifying dietary trays prior to distribution and delivering food carts to designated locations.
  • Transporting used food carts and trays to the dishwashing area for cleaning.
